I have played two matches in the past 15 months due to tennis elbow injury and realised i cannot play at all. I have not picked up a racket since the last match I played last year. I have even registered for a league and did not play at all. Dr. Koco Eaton in St. Petersburg is performing surgery on my elbow on June 17th of this year--I am told he is the best in the field in Florida!
Their number is (727) 573-5626. He told me I should be fit to play three months from the date of surgery.
To up my rating is a fault in the system--I realise why it does that, but it does not reflect my true rating status.

I would like my rating of 2.5 restored. I had several injuries on the courts this season (necessating defaults)- including tennis elbow and a right calf injury due to a jutting bar on the right gate of the Seven Lakes tennis court. That injury resulted in emergency room treatment and two months at the Wound Center and no tennis on either team from February 1st to the end of the season. That left me no chance to regain my 2.5 which I'm confident I could have.

I felt I really didn't belong on the GOLD but had to play due to my rating of 3.5 being on the high side of the curve. I'm now 75 yrs old and am having a tougher time coming up against younger, harder hitters.

I work and have a hard time making matches on Tuesday. Out of 14 available matches for 3.5, I only played 7. Of those I only won 2, for a percentage of 28.6%. The previous year on the 3.5 minus team I only won 60% of my matches at that level. I do not honestly feel I am a 3.5 player. As all the other women on our 3.5 team are 3.5 minus (with one other exception), and with the poor results this year, I believe that Park Meadow will not field a 3.5 team. I have played LCWTL for almost 20 years and would like to keep playing at Park Meadow. |

Why? I've been on Dynamo's for over 5 years and don't want to be forced into a 4.0 league just because I haven't played as much as I used to. I assume that is how you calculate the ratings plus wins and losse. Also, I work, which obviously has never interfered with my rating but now life has taken another turn, in that, just recently since November of 2010 I've had to care for my Mom in Maryland about every three weeks since she developed cancer. I know the ratings are what they are and you can't up anyone's ratings but I'd like to ask if you could recalculate my rating as a favor to me. My skills as a 4.5- or better are still the same. Had part of lung removed because of cancer. I get winded easily and find that even the 3.0 players are very much a challenge in three sets.
Have a ripped rotator cuff which is in the process of healing. Was off most of the year with this injury. |

CCE has only two teams, on which many of our ladies have been playing for many years. We really want to stay together.
At the beginning of this past season we had to move up to 3.0 because we had placed second 2 consecutive years in 3.0-. This year we came in last in 3.0 simply because most of our players are 3.0- or 2.5. We were obviously 'out of our league.' Since I had to play court 1, I,too, was outmatched most of the time. I won only 8 matches out of 23 total played, so I believe I will fit right in in 3.0-.
Since I have no other place to go to play tennis, I would truly appreciate being able to stay with my team of many years.

I would love to play in the 50+ league in 2011/2012, but our Club has no Platinum team.
Although we have two 50+ teams at Heritage Palms, my new rating prevents me from playing on either of these teams, as on 2/25/11, my rating changed from 4.0- to 4.0.
Although my rating went up slightly from last year, it was enough , with the new parameters, to push me over into the 4.0 category. I believe that my DCTR number (that I received on 4/20/11 from Audrey Palmer)
is 3.626 and my Indiv. Dbls number is 3.776.
While I still have my health and energy, I would love to be able to play on two different teams, especially since I also live at Heritage Palms and enjoy this tennis community and the game.

There is also one other player whose rating went from 4.0- to 4.0 and we have talked to our teammates about having a 4.0 team next season. Our 4.0- team finished in the middle of the pack this past season and if we moved up we would automatically lose 3 players from our team who are 3.5-. None of the other players agreed to move up, so I will not have a club team to play on.
The Gold team has even one less player on the team as well as four players with a 3.5- rating who would not be able to move up to a Platinum Division either. None of the teammates want to move up, so again, I will be without any team at the club to play on.
I don't believe my rating (which I haven't seen) increase could possibly have been that significant over the past two years to go from a 3.5 to a 4.0 in this division with such good matches, and some awful losses!

Gold is the only team I am eligible to play for at Kelly Greens(highest one). If I am unable to play on that team I will have to retire from competitive tennis. I'm 67 years old and would really like to play with my teammates. I don't feel that my play is that much better than my competitors or teammates - I simply had a good season. (8 wins: 3 of which were tie breakers, and 4 losses). I believe that every match I played was very competitive. I desperately wish to play here at Kelly Greens where I live. My employer has made a great effort for me to play tennis, changing their staffing, letting me have time off for the matches and clinics for the 3.5- schedule. I don't believe I will be able to continue to play tennis with the change in schedule that the 3.5 league would require.
I also hear from my pro that I am barely into the 3.5 rating category and he feels my level is more in line with the 3.5- rating.
I would ask for your consideration in allowing me to continue to play at the 3.5 minus level in a sport that I so enjoy. Thank you. |

I have sat out for one year now, since there is no team at the Vines higher than 3.5- and Silver. In fact, we disbanded the Silver team, since I was captain and could no longer play. We would like to get back into Lee Co.
I have 2 medical issues - my back, for which I have been receiving physical therapy most of the winter, and my heart. I have Atrial Fibrillation and high blood pressure, and can get a note from my cardiologist, but was told that can't be submitted until fall. I would normally be captain, and this makes it difficult to plan ahead and get my name in the book for the fall if I can't get the appeal now.
My pro says that I am a 3.5- player and therefore I am appealing the 3.5 rating. I have had to slow down my tennis because of health conditions. |

I have had two hip replacements..( revison on the same side,) and have had a bad fall 10 weeks ago tearing a hamstring. I feel that I will not be able to advance to the next level. I did well with the two hip surgeries, but this tear has been HUGE. I am still not more than 80 percent and really question whether I will be able to run for the ball as I did in the past.
Would really like to stay at the same level.

I am requesting an appeal so that I may continue to play in LCWTL this coming season. Here basically is why I am requesting consideration by your committee to allow me to continue to play with the 3.5- league with certain restrictions.
There are no higher level teams available for me to play on at Judd Park, and playing there is very important to me. For personal responsibilities I have at home with my husband and great-granddaughter, this location is the most convenient for me for practices and half of the matches. I am approximately 2-1/2 miles away from the park and that is extremely important.
The cost of playing at any private club would be prohibitive to me. Playing at this public park is reasonable, convenient, and what I can best afford.
Therefore, if there is any way that you can review this request and agree to allow me to continue playing with these leagues, I will be most grateful. If you cannot approve my request, I will accept your decision. I am most appreciative for all the years I have been able to participate in league play and have enjoyed the good tennis and meeting and playing with so many nice people. Thank you. Maggie Judge

I have had 2 eye surgeries in the last 2 years for detached retinas. The last one was september of 2010. since then I have limited vision in my right eye. I tried to play last fall in two 3.5 matches, and sadly, realized I could not compete at that level as my sight and depth perception were impaired. I informed both captains of my decision and did not play any more matches. Since then I have not renewed my membership at the Dunes.I live in Crown Colony and would request that I be allowed to move down to 3.5- rating so I may join a team where I live. I wish to appeal my rating to a 4.0 minus. I am on a 3.5 team. I played on 3rd court all season except for my last game which was on 4th court. Yes, I had a winning season this year but I would like to point out the reason. My first win was with a player who ended up being on our first court by the end of the season. She is a very good player. My next partner was a player who has played 2nd court in the past years but because she was working more this year she had less time to dedicate to tennis. She is still a very good player and, because of her experience and ability we won all our matches together. These two players 'are' the reason why I had a winning season. They are both very good players (please note: their ratings did not change this season and they are both better players than me). My goal is to improve my game so I can play on 2nd court. I know if I have the opportunity to play on 2nd court my true rating of a 3.5 will show. I do not believe a 3rd court player can go to a 4.0 minus rating without playing against the better players on the other teams who play on courts 1 and 2. Therefore, I wish to appeal my rating status and have it remain at a 3.5. Please also note that our club does not have a 4.0 minus team. I request to be able to play Silver for the 2011-2012 season. There will only be one Gold team next season and there are too many players for one team. More importantly, my win ratio this past season in Gold was not good. In fact of the matches I won, they were won at 3rd or 4th position. Based on my unsuccessful season, I request to play Sislver for next season. Thank you. |

I have a knee replacement and cannot run like before and only win when I have a "running" partner. I'm the oldest on my 3.0 team (76). In 9 of my wins, I played against at least one 3.0- player and could have been expected to win... Both the 3.5- and the Silver teams at Lexington are full, so I probably will not have a team to play on if I have to move from the 3.0 team. I probably will only play one more year competitively and would love to be able to stay on my daughter's team for that year. |

I cannot play tennis on Mondays next season the day of the 4.0- matches.
My record on the 4.0- team was 6-10 having played on the 3.5 team in the past. I had a winning record on the Gold team playing the lower courts.
The 3.5 team which I am requesting to play on next year came in 8th place out of 15 teams and was only 7 pts ahead of the 11th place team out of 15 teams.
If I were granted the appeal I do not think I would be unfairly playing on the 3.5 team in the first court position. |

It appears Park Meadow will not have a 3.5 team next season as the team overall was very weak in this division. He is instead planning 2 - 3.5- teams. Most of year I was only 3.5 player on the court. My better results were when I subbed 4.0- and played Gold but there does not seem to be a spot for me to play up. Therefore, I am requesting permission to play down at the 3.5- level. |

I am currently a 3.5 rating at my club and in every league that I play in (Collier and Lee). The only exception is the 4.0- league (LCWTL) and that is because they raised all of the 3.5 players last season to a 4.0- when we won the league last year. I had a very good season (as did everyone on my team) and would not have been surprised to be raised to a 4.0 (like 5 of my other teammates). But, to be raised 2 levels makes NO SENSE at all. I am in the bottom portion of our roster when it comes to skill...putting me up two levels would be unfair to me and put me in a very uncomfortable place -- I could not be competitive at that level. I was looking forward to the challenge of being a 4.0. I'd be out of my league (literally) any higher than that. I would ask that someone take the time to talk to our head tennis pro, Paula Scheb, to get her thoughts on my skills versus my teammates if there is any question. I think she'd support me in a move to the 4.0 level at this point.
My whole team is interested in moving to the next level -- the 4.0 team on Thursdays. I feel I should be a 4.0 with no restrictions like the rest of my team. Our team would be made up of 4.0's and 4.0-'s. |

I love tennis and enjoy playing competitively. Since I began playing in LCWTL, in 2000, my rating has fluctuated between 4.0- and 4.5-. During most of that time, my rating has been 4.0. My rating for next year is statistically 4.5-, however I believe I am a 4.0 player. When you examine the records of my play, I believe you will agree that 4.0 is the appropriate level for me to play. At my age, with chronic bilateral tendonitis of my Achilles and developing arthritis, it is unlikely that my level of play will significanlty improve beyond my current level. Del Tura does not have a 4.0- team nor does it have players who would qualify to form one. Last season we had a 4.0- on our team who had to play court 1 so almost all of my matches were on court 2 where it is easier to win. I am requesting a medical appeal as I have BAC lung cancer and am on chemo which has side effects that are affecting my ability to play competitively. I apologize for the delay. However, I was not able to play in the summer heat and therefore only realized my limitations recently. I have lost the first three matches due mainly to fatigye and vision issues. For this reason, I am requesting a rating adjustment to 4.0 so that I may participate at a lower position where I may be able to be competitive.

I am applying for an appeal to play in the 3.5 minus division next year with my team at Judd Park. If I am unable to play with the Judd Park 3.5 minus team, I cannot play in the league next season because there is no team for me to play on. My team will not move up to the 3.5 level, having finished in the bottom half of the standings in the 3.5 minus division, and there is no higher level team available for me.
I was very surprised to move up two levels since many of my matches were close and I lost eight of the twenty matches I played. Last season was the first time I had ever played competitive tennis. I enjoyed it very much and will be very disappointed if I cannot play next season in LCWTL.
