Appeals For 2011
(updated Oct 7, 2011)
An appeal is defined as a player requesting to
play down one level below her rating. Example: A
player with a 4.0 rating requests to play on a team in the
4.0 minus division. Because a lower rated player may play
up two levels on a higher rated team, appeals are
not
accepted to raise a player’s rating.
The appeals committee did not grant any requests for a
player to play up beyond what the roster rules allow.
Any rating appeal granted to play down one division is valid
for one year only.
The actual rating does not change; however
the granting of an appeal to play in a rated division
does not automatically grant an appeal for the corresponding
Senior division and vice versa, unless both divisions were
specifically requested.
If a players’ rating falls within 0.05 of the requested
rating an automatic appeal is granted.
An appeal denied to a player requesting to play down one
division was based on a review of the player’s rating, her
match history, her win-loss record and the number of times
her match scores beat the projected outcome.
The restrictions
associated with the appeal to play down are:
·
1 appealed
player per match on court 1
only
For medical reasons such as major surgery;
i.e., hip or knee replacement, a player may request to
re-rate down. The player must send Form 7, along with a
Physician’s Note to the LCWTL Director between September 1
and October 1 with a brief explanation for this request.
